Fashion Forward Hat
This hat is great on its own or as a complement to the Fashion Forward Cowl. It’s relaxed, slouchy styling fits with any outfit. The ribbing plus the honeycomb cable pattern are warm on a cold winter day. It is worked in the round from the bottom up and the minimal crown decreasing flows organically from the honeycomb body.
This hat is worked in the round in one piece. Pattern includes notes, a list of abbreviations, and the stitch pattern is both written and charted. Pattern also includes a photo tutorial for the Left Lifted Increase (LLI).
Yarn
Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Aran (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 150 yd [137.5 m]/3.5 oz [100 g]). 1 skein. Shown in Feather Grey – #875 (MC).
Cascade Yarns Eco Cloud (70% undyed merino wool, 30% undyed baby alpaca; 164 yd [150 m]/3.5 oz [100 g]). 1 skein, or approx 65 yds. Shown in Charcoal – #1810 (CC).
Needles
US size 8 [5.0 mm] 16” [40 cm] circular needle.
US size 10.5 [6.5 mm] 16” [40 cm] circular needle.
US size 10.5 [6.5 mm] double-pointed needles (dpns).
Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain gauge.
Required Skills
Knitting in the round, cabling with a cable needle. Stitches used: k, p, LLI, C4F, C4B, ssk, k2tog.
